Whether you’re a fan or have never seen the show, you’ve likely heard Ted’s message that the happiest animal in the world is a goldfish because it has a 10-second memory.

It’s a reminder that it’s okay to be sad, angry, or disappointed when something doesn’t go the way you want it to. Feel the emotion, but then release it and let it go. Or, as a midlife female friend once told me “Give Yourself 10 Minutes to Wail” and move on. 

The next time you are struggling with the menopause transition or making the lifestyle changes you want to make, look in the mirror and tell yourself to be a goldfish. Tomorrow’s a whole new day.
